SikaBit® S-60 is a proprietary composite, uniquely designed to provide high strength, low-temperature adhesion, and high-temperature stability in a superior waterproofing membrane. A tough cross-laminated film forms a resilient barrier against physical damage and water migration. It is a cold-applied system requiring no heat or special equipment to install.

Use:

SikaBit® S-60 is ideal for waterproofing below-grade concrete, masonry structures, and wood surfaces where in-service temperatures will not exceed 130 °F (54 °C). It can also be applied to split slab construction both above and below grade as well as earth-sheltered structures.

Surface Preparation - The surface must be clean, dry, free of voids, and structurally sound. Remove dust, laitance, grease, curing compounds, bond inhibiting impregnations, waxes, and any other contaminants. Concrete must be properly dried for a minimum of 7 days, ideally 14 days. If applying the membrane in less than 14 days, consult with Sika Technical Representative for a process for applying the membrane to green concrete. Repair any defects and remove sharp protrusions as well as form match lines.

Primers - Apply SikaBit® Primer AW by roller or sprayer at a rate of 450–500 ft2 /gal. Allow the primer to dry for one hour or until the primer is slightly tacky. Drying time may be longer in cooler temperatures. Reprime if the area is contaminated by dust or other debris, apply SikaBit® S-60 as soon as the primer is dry. NEVER apply primer directly to the SikaBit® S-60 membrane.
