Merit PowerLock Quick Change Discs, Aluminum Oxide
Snap-On / TP / Type 1

Merit’s Aluminum Oxide PowerLock Discs are best used for general purpose deburring and blending on ferrous and nonferrous metals where greater edge durability is required. Aluminum Oxide is is one of the most widely used man made minerals and is a tough, durable manufactured abrasive characterized by long life of its cutting edges and points. Aluminum Oxide is well suited for use on a broad range of materials such as ferrous and non-ferrous metals, soft and hard woods.

PowerLock Discs come in a choice of three safe, easy-to-use fasteners.
No matter which fastener type you choose, all Merit PowerLock Discs feature laminated construction which provide a tough, durable backing - virtually eliminating the snagging and shredding that can occur with pressure-sensitive Discs.

Type I
Type I is a snap-on/snap-off system, which enables you to change Discs quickly and safely, Reducing down time and operating expenses
(equivalent to Norton’s TP fastener)

Type II
Type II features a turn-on/turn-off style fastener
(equivalent to Standard Abrasives’ Soc-Att® locking system or Norton’s TS fastener)

Type III
Type III features a Roll-on/Roll-off style fastener
(equivalent to 3M™ Roloc fastening system or Norton’s TR fastener)
